Our Ambition for Seychelles Breweries under the PhoenixEarth Initiative (PEI)
Following the acquisition of a majority stake in Seychelles Breweries Ltd (“SBL”), our ambition is to build on SBL existing achievements in responsible business practices and elevate them through the shared vision of PEI. With over five decades of heritage, SBL has already demonstrated strong leadership in its commitment to the Seychellois community, its support for local employment with a team of more than 160 people, and its deep integration into the nation’s economic and social fabric.

- Preserve cultural and brand identity while amplifying SeyBrew’s role as a symbol of national pride, ensuring that its flagship lager and iconic portfolio remain central to both Seychellois identity and the tourism experience.

The Breweries Foundation
Established in 2022, the Seychelles Breweries Foundation is the CSR arm of Seychelles Breweries Limited, reflecting our commitment to sustainable development and community impact. With an initial investment of SCR 2 million, the Foundation supports projects in areas such as environmental sustainability, responsible drinking, and youth empowerment.
Funding is awarded through biannual calls for proposals, with submissions evaluated by a voluntary committee of SBL employees. This structured approach ensures transparency, accountability, and alignment with national priorities.

Our Commitment to the Environment
At Seychelles Breweries Limited, environmental sustainability is a key pillar of our corporate responsibility. Through the Seychelles Breweries Foundation and operational initiatives, we actively support projects focused on waste reduction, water conservation, and marine and coastal protection.
Highlights include partnerships with local NGOs to support beach clean-ups, mangrove restoration, and waste management education, as well as ongoing efforts to reduce our own environmental footprint through improved resource efficiency and sustainable packaging solutions.
Positive Drinking
At Seychelles Breweries Limited, promoting the responsible consumption of alcohol is a core part of our sustainability and community engagement strategy. We are committed to raising awareness around the risks of alcohol misuse, particularly among young people, and to encouraging moderation and informed choices among adults.
A key initiative is our SMASHED campaign, delivered in all secondary schools across Seychelles. This interactive, educational programme empowers students to understand the dangers of underage drinking.
Through partnerships, public education, and clear product labelling, we continue to drive a culture of responsibility across the communities we serve.
